Hi guys! Over winter break I came across this candy boutique, Sweet Saba, in NYC via a New York Times profile on the owner, Mayaan Zilberman. Zilberman makes intensely colored candy gemstones and jewelry that sells for exorbitant prices.
The flavors are also crazy – mother’s milk, bacon, whiskey, salted strawberry, cayenne cranberry. The pieces are beautiful and fun, but art pieces like this that are so short-lived are always intriguing to me. I have always though of food as art, but art that we simply enjoy by consuming with our mouths. The experience is fleeting, which maybe makes it more special.
