Hand-Coloured Japanese Postcards

These postcards are from pre-war Japan, and are all hand-coloured. They come from Tokyo and Yokohama from 1907 to 1922. I think that this set of cards is very pleasing to look at on a whole, and the color scheme really unifies them into one entity. The choice of colors and the locations that they decided to use, seem to capture the essence of the country at the time. There is a lovely mix of public/urban spaces and natural environments.
