Azuma Makoto

Artist Azuma Makoto is fascinated by the intersection of human kind and nature; his pieces play with ideas of the man-made and the organic; he explores the beauty that comes from this far too infrequent meeting. He uses materials such as metal and fungi – the living and the completely inanimate.

Originally from Tokyo, Makoto began this exploration about two years ago with his project, “Exobiotanica”, in which he captured photographs of different flora and heavy metals flying through the sky. Check out some of his work below!
